Native SSH and Remote Desktop client for Mac

Every server, one Mac app.

Waylink keeps your Linux, macOS and Windows servers in one tidy place and connects in a click. Real terminals, built-in Remote Desktop, and passwords that never leave your Keychain.

30 days, every feature. For Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14 or newer. No credit card, no sign-up.

Less time hunting for the right login

Connect in one click

Stop retyping hostnames and digging through shell history. Save each server once, group and tag it, search for it, and open it in a tab.

Secrets stay in your Keychain

Passwords and key passphrases live in the macOS Keychain, never in a file, a log or a command line. The first connection shows the host fingerprint before anything is trusted.

Linux, macOS and Windows

Terminals over SSH for Linux and macOS, and a full Remote Desktop session for Windows Server, all in the same window.

Everything you need to run your servers

A focused set of tools, built natively for the Mac.

  • Host manager

Groups, tags, search, list or card view. Export your hosts and import them on another Mac. Passwords are never exported.

  • Real terminals in tabs

Powered by the OpenSSH that ships with macOS. Resize, Ctrl+C, Tab and arrow keys behave as in any terminal. Log in with a password, a key file or ssh-agent.

  • Windows Remote Desktop

A built-in RDP client for Windows Server: keyboard in English and Thai, text clipboard, window resizing, full screen, and a choice of Retina-sharp or larger-UI display.

  • Keychain and host-key safety

Credentials only in the Keychain. A changed host key is blocked with a warning. Deleting a host deletes its saved secrets too.

  • Command panel and library

Keep the commands you reuse in My Commands and send them to the open terminal from a panel beside it. The built-in Command Library covers Linux, macOS, Docker, Kubernetes, networking and Windows PowerShell, each with a plain explanation.

  • Command suggestions

Suggestions from your own typing history, one click to insert. Anything that looks like a secret is never stored.

  • Server details at a glance

See network, memory and disk usage of a connected server in a side panel, read over your existing SSH connection.

  • Port forwarding

Local, remote and dynamic forwards with saved rules, plus a connection log that never records secrets.

  • Feels like a Mac app

Light and dark mode, keyboard shortcuts, VoiceOver labels, and signed automatic updates.

  1. 1

    Add a server

Enter the address, port and user, choose a password or key, and pick Linux, macOS or Windows.

  2. 2

    Connect and trust

Check the host fingerprint once. Waylink remembers it and warns you if it ever changes.

  3. 3

    Get to work

Open sessions in tabs, send saved commands, forward ports and glance at server health.

Security you can explain to your team

Waylink is careful with the things attackers want most.

  • Passwords and key passphrases are stored only in the macOS Keychain.
  • Passwords never appear on a command line or in the environment. Waylink answers the password prompt of ssh over a private channel on your Mac.
  • Host keys are checked before the first connection and enforced strictly afterwards.
  • Your hosts and saved commands are stored on your Mac. Waylink only contacts our server to check your license and to look for updates.

Built for people who run servers

  • System administrators with a mix of Linux and Windows machines
  • Developers and DevOps engineers who live in the terminal
  • IT support teams who jump between customer machines all day

Questions, answered

Is Waylink free?

Every feature is free for 30 days. After that you need a license. Licenses are sold by bank transfer; ask us from the contact page.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later: Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) or an Intel Mac that can run macOS 14. Intel support is new in version 1.0.0, so if anything misbehaves on your Intel Mac, please tell us.

Does it work with Windows servers?

Yes. Connect with Remote Desktop (RDP), or with SSH if the OpenSSH Server feature is turned on. Audio and drive mapping are not supported yet.

Does Waylink store my passwords?

Only in the Keychain on your own Mac. We never receive them.

What happens when the trial ends?

Waylink locks until you enter a license key. Your saved hosts stay on your Mac and are waiting for you when you activate.

Is there a graphical file browser for SFTP?

Not yet. SFTP opens in a terminal tab for now.

Why does macOS warn me the first time I open it?

Waylink is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch. The download page shows the two clicks it takes.
